The project BRIDGE – Strengthening the Capacity of the Civil Society is implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

BRIDGE focuses on the necessary planning, implementation, and networking skills of civil society actors for change processes at the local level. Accordingly, the overall objective is: Civil society organizations, women, and young people, as agents of change, have made better use of the remaining room to manoeuvre for social participation within Syria. One output of the project aims to improve the public discourse on development engagement at community level and to have a greater presence of development-related issues. Focus is here on women and young people and on the local media, to increase the social awareness of the target group’s interests and to inspire others for more active community engagement.

A. Main Tasks and Responsibilities

The intern will support the BRIDGE Project in management and coordination of activities.

  • Compiles, summarizes and present information/data on TAKAMUL III applicants
  • Ensures administrative coordination of incoming TAKAMUL III applications
  • Drafts, prepares and updates briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, and other forms of documentation regarding TAKAMUL III
  • Ensures proper archiving and secure filing of all documents related to the TAKAMUL III call for proposals.
  • Supports in organizing meetings, workshops, and training sessions; prepares training materials
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

B. Required qualifications, competencies, and experience

Eligibility Criteria

  • Applicants shall be Turkish citizens or residents in Türkiye, and they shall be based in Gaziantep.
  • Applicants should have full-time availability throughout the internship period.

Educational Background

  • Currently enrolled in or recently (no more than 6 months ago) graduated from a relevant field Public Administration, Business Administration, International Relations, Political Science, Social Sciences, or related disciplines.

Other skills, knowledge, and competences

  • Professional fluency in English and intermediate level of Turkish is a must.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Reliable, proactive, and solution-oriented mindset
