Title: Internship in Country Office, Procurement and Contracting Department

Location: Ankara, Türkiye

Period of assignment: up to 6 months (part time)

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Part-Time Intern to join our Procurement and Contracting Department. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in procurement processes, contract management, and supplier relations within a dynamic work environment.

A. Main Tasks:
The intern will support the GIZ Procurement and Contracting in the implementation of the project in all lines of activities, with a focus of the assignment on the following tasks:

  • Assisting with archiving tasks to ensure the systematic tracking of incoming and outgoing documents.
  • Performing administrative and office support activities.
  • Following up on contracts and procurement requests
  • Electronically filing documents (DMS) and maintaining paper documents in compliance with GIZ rules and regulations.
  • Preparation for internal controls.

Other duties/additional tasks

  • Represents the interests and always acts on behalf of GIZ
  • Conducts other relevant tasks upon the requests of the direct superior
  • Regularly follows up on changes in GIZ Processes and Regulations (P+R)

B. Required qualifications, competencies and experience

  • Applicants must be either Turkish citizens or residents of Türkiye.

Educational Background:

  • Currently enrolled in or recent graduate of a relevant field such as Business Administration, Engineering, Finance, or related fields.

Skills and Qualities:

  • Strong organizational skills with acute attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to facilitate clear and concise interaction with team members.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with the ability to create visual presentations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team, as well as independently when required.

Other knowledge, additional competencies

  • Full proficiency in English; knowledge of German is advantageous.
  • Ability to meticulously follow rules and procedures in procurement/contracting and documentation.
  • Capability to multitask and manage several tasks simultaneously.
  • Creative thinking with innovative ideas for new interventions and approaches.
  • Strong team player.
