GOAL has field offices in Adana, Gaziantep, Hatay, Mersin and \u015eanl\u0131urfa with two administrative offices in Ankara and Hatay.<\/p>\n<p>GOAL Turkey benefits from strong relationships with key stakeholders within the country\u2019s national refugee response framework and has established trust within targeted communities. Our contribution to the national refugee response in Turkey has been focused on protection of vulnerable and marginalized refugees. Our current projects mainly target nomadic and semi-nomadic refugee groups and seasonal agricultural workers in Adana, Hatay, \u015eanl\u0131urfa, Mersin and Gaziantep. In 2020, GOAL reached over 25,000 refugees with protection services.<\/p>\n<p><strong>GOAL in Turkey:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>GOAL is currently implementing two projects (ECHO funded\u00a0LINK\u00a0and BPRM funded GREEN) in Turkey. The Green program aims to improve the socioeconomic inclusion, resilience and self-sufficiency of highly vulnerable\/excluded women and girls from host and refugee communities (Syrians as well as those living in program locations under the international protection regulation) including nomadic communities and seasonal agriculture workers from both communities through integrated and market driven livelihood opportunities and protection services, including language courses and vocational skills training on greenhouse production and agriculture; case management (CM)\/coaching services, establishment of a women cooperative, protection outreach, information provision and awareness raising; and provision of special needs and individual protection assistance services.\u00a0The\u00a0LINK\u00a0program targets refugees from nomadic \/ semi-nomadic backgrounds and those engaged in seasonal agricultural labour.\u00a0LINK\u00a0has been designed to address and mitigate protection concerns of the vulnerable \/ marginalized refugees through provision of critical information and raising their awareness on their rights, obligations and services available in Turkey, by sensitization\/advocacy (targeting key stakeholders and service providers, etc.) activities, and Individual Protection Assistance (IPA) services to enable highly vulnerable refugees to access to basic, social and protective services available under the provisions of Temporary and International Protection regulations in Turkey.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Purpose of the Position\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Under its\u00a0LINK\u00a0program,\u00a0GOAL Turkey\u00a0will be offering\u00a0practicum and\u00a0opportunities for new graduates and\/or students who are in their\u00a0final year\u00a0at university\u00a0and willing to gain\u00a0practical\u00a0experiences in refugee protection\u00a0and social services.\u00a0GOAL\u00a0will\u00a0accept\u00a0talented\u00a0new graduates and\u00a0students from different social work, or\u00a0law\u00a0who can make the commitment to do 4 months field assignments.<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of the position is to provide new graduates and\/or\u00a0final year students the opportunity to work in the field to develop and demonstrate skills in refugee protection\/social\u00a0services, to integrate the theories and practices learned in and out of the classroom.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Scope of Work\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The proposed program will target\u00a020\u00a0social work,\u00a0and law new graduates or\u00a0final\u00a0year students from different universities. The assistants will be introduced to the field of refugee protection\/social services that targeting refugees from nomadic and semi-nomadic background and seasonal agricultural laborer. Jr. Assistants will receive ongoing guidance and support from the field supervisor assigned by GOAL for different provinces and will be able to observe and assist\u00a0LINK\u00a0protection teams by applying their academic training to the real world and practicing their skills.<\/p>\n<p>Under the overall\u00a0coordination\u00a0and supervision\u00a0of\u00a0GT\u00a0Protection and Inclusion\u00a0Program\u00a0Coordinator\u00a0(PICO)\u00a0and the\u00a0LINK\u00a0Deputy\u00a0Program Managers (DPMs), the assistants will work closely with GOAL\u00a0LINK\u00a0field\u00a0staff to\u00a0support program beneficiaries\u00a0within\u00a0individual protection assistance (IPA),\u00a0legal protection\u00a0and counselling,\u00a0outreach\/community work,\u00a0awareness\u00a0raising\u00a0and\u00a0psychoeducation\u00a0group\u00a0sessions, protection monitoring\u00a0and stakeholder sensitization\u00a0activities,\u00a0etc.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Expected\u00a0Field Learning Areas\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Junior Program Assistants\u00a0will have variety of opportunities\u00a0to develop\u00a0knowledge and\u00a0skills\u00a0in humanitarian protection\/social services\u00a0field and\u00a0the\u00a0development of a sense of identity with its accompanying values and guidelines under which the\u00a0humanitarian actors\u00a0operate.<\/p>\n<p>Below are the suggested\u00a0field learning opportunities, other experiences of particular interest to an\u00a0assistant can be incorporated into the\u00a0assistant\u2019s individual learning goals and contract at any time during the placement:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Orientation to GOAL Turkey \u2014 includes staff, facility, office procedures, filing system, types of services provided, GOAL\u2019s place in the refuge protection\/social service network, methods of intervention, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Basic understanding of how generalist\u00a0refugee protection\/social services\u00a0practices\u00a0are\u00a0applied in a specific agency setting.<\/li>\n<li>Culturally sensitive practice methods with diverse and at-risk\u00a0refugee\u00a0populations.<\/li>\n<li>Gain awareness of\u00a0refugee protection\/social service resources in the\u00a0field\u00a0that\u00a0would\u00a0enable assistants\u00a0to\u00a0become\u00a0broker\u00a0between\u00a0services\u00a0and beneficiaries\u00a0to enhance\u00a0program\u00a0clients\u2019\u00a0functioning and well-being.<\/li>\n<li>Enhancement of interviewing skills\u00a0that help\u00a0to develop working relationships with diverse types of\u00a0beneficiary\u00a0and\u00a0beneficiary\u00a0groups, to formulate initial and on-going assessments at the micro, mezzo, and macro levels, and to modify relationship styles to fit the client situation.<\/li>\n<li>Gain experiences in\u00a0intervention\/service plan for actual clients based on\u00a0Interagency IPA\u00a0SoPs.<\/li>\n<li>Increase\u00a0self-awareness of own intrapersonal and interpersonal attributes that enhance or interfere with\u00a0refugee protection\/social service provider\u00a0role.\u00a0Experiences in developing and managing effective interventive relationships \u2014 includes opportunities for\u00a0assistants\u00a0to observe several staff with their own individual styles of intervention, participation in a variety of helping relationships, and the use of supervision to assist\u00a0assistants\u00a0to determine how they can develop an effective working relationship with a variety of\u00a0beneficiaries.<\/li>\n<li>Gain experiences in\u00a0international human rights law,\u00a0international refugee law, Turkish immigration legislation, temporary protection regulation and rights and obligations of sessional agricultural workers.<\/li>\n<li>Gain awareness of women\u2019s rights, prevention of violence against women and legal tools against physical, emotional, economical,\u00a0and sexual violence available for refugees.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to use supervision in an appropriate manner for continued growth and development.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of helping professionals.<\/li>\n<li>Development of appropriate documentation skills within the agency setting which are clear, organized, and meet standards for the profession and the particular agency setting.<\/li>\n<li>Respect for an individual\u2019s worth and dignity and their unique resource\/referral management \u2014 includes overall orientation to services available to\u00a0beneficiary\u00a0population being served by\u00a0GT; contacts with other agencies providing support services to\u00a0refugees; scheduled visits to key agencies with whom\u00a0linkage\u00a0for\u00a0beneficiaries\u00a0is most common; and learning procedures for effective referrals.<\/li>\n<li>Interaction and assessment\u00a0experiences \u2014 includes, under the GT staff supervision,\u00a0observing, planning, and conducting interviews for a variety of purposes with diversified\u00a0beneficiary\u00a0systems in a variety of places (GT offices,\u00a0home, school, hospital, etc.).<\/li>\n<li>Becoming familiar with\u00a0GT\u00a0procedures for\u00a0MEAL\u00a0\u2014 includes designing a plan for evaluating own practice,\u00a0case\u00a0progress, and effectiveness of interventions; data collection and\u00a0analysis and\u00a0conceptualizing\/ developing a system for program evaluation.<\/li>\n<li>Experience with group\u00a0work\u2014 includes observation and participation in groups\u00a0sessions\u00a0such as\u00a0awareness\/information\u00a0and\u00a0psychoeducation\u00a0groups sessions and\u00a0staff meetings,\u00a0etc.\u00a0developing an understanding of group\u00a0dynamics,\u00a0processes,\u00a0and skill in interacting in groups as a member or facilitator.<\/li>\n<li>Experience in\u00a0outreach and\u00a0community activities \u2014 includes observation and\/or participation in assignments that\u00a0support\u00a0understanding of the\u00a0different refugee\u00a0communities\u00a0and\u00a0refugee protection\/social services\u00a0network,\u00a0GT\u2019s\u00a0role in the\u00a0wider refugee response in Turkey, as well as assignments that draw attention to unmet community needs and provide opportunity for\u00a0intervention\u00a0planning.<\/li>\n<li>Experience in work in cooperation with different teams \u2013 includes cooperation between IPA team and PLC or Psychologist, PO team and PLC or Psychologist, IPA team and PO\u00a0team.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>General\u00a0Structure for Field Practicum<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Junior Program Assistants, after their contracts\u00a0signed\u00a0and necessary arrangements made for their reception,\u00a0will\u00a0start their\u00a0field\u00a0assignments\u00a0in GOAL\u2019s Social Support Centers, either in Mersin, Adana, Gaziantep, Hatay, or \u015eanl\u0131urfa, depending on their application and choice;\u00a0and\u00a0spent 4\u00a0months\u00a0in the\u00a0field concurrently in the same\u00a0province\u00a0unless there are extenuating circumstances which necessitate a change.<\/p>\n<p>Once on board, assistants will go through set of inductions as to GOAL\u2019s policies and procedures, including Adult and Child Safeguarding and will receive a 1-day Child and Adult Safeguarding training within first month of their recruitment.<\/p>\n<p>GOAL\u00a0PICO\u00a0will be responsible\u00a0from the\u00a0coordination and supervision of the program.\u00a0GOAL DPMs will be responsible\u00a0coordinating it at\u00a0provincial levels\u00a0will line manage the assistants. Day to day\u00a0field\u00a0activities\u00a0of the assistants\u00a0will be supervised by\u00a0field instructors\u00a0(DPMs)\u00a0assigned by\u00a0the PICO\u00a0respectively in each location.<\/p>\n<p>Each\u00a0assistant\u00a0required to commit a total\u00a08\u00a0documented hours\u00a0of\u00a0work\u00a0a day\u00a0over the course of\u00a0their\u00a0recruitment.\u00a0GT staff\u00a0are not required to work during\u00a0public holiday breaks.<\/p>\n<p>It is very important that each\u00a0assistant\u00a0to\u00a0be aware of and\u00a0develop\u00a0individual goals for\u00a0their\u00a0field\u00a0work\u00a0which are pertinent to personal learning needs and\u00a0GOAL Turkey\u2019s.\u00a0As soon as their field\u00a0placement\u00a0start,\u00a0each assistant will\u00a0develop an individualized learning\u00a0plan with supports from\u00a0his\/her academic supervisor (for those who are in their final years)\u00a0and\u00a0GOAL\u2019s\u00a0DPMs\u00a0that includes learning goals, objectives, activities\/tasks, and evaluation measures that address areas of professional knowledge and skills in need of development or improvement.\u00a0Overall\u00a0performance\u00a0evaluation of\u00a0each assistant\u00a0will be done against the individual learning and workplans\u00a0that are agreed by the assistants and respective parties.<\/p>\n<p>All assistants will strictly adhere to relevant GOAL\u00a0policies and procedures\u00a0along with\u00a0confidentiality and do no harm principles.
